Sandy Brown, a music teacher at Plymouth Middle School in the Robbinsdale Area School District, has been selected to serve on the Ensemble-Traditional subcommittee writing the next generation of National Standards in the Arts. 

Brown, who has been in education since 1993, was chosen from among hundreds of applicants and nominees nationwide because of her expertise in the area of music education.  The process to write new national standards takes approximately two years.  Brown is committed.  “I hope I can use my experience with our strong Robbinsdale music program, and with our wonderfully diverse population, to help construct updated music standards that are rigorous, relevant, and achievable in today’s world.  I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
