Several new restaurants came to the city in 2012.
This year brought several new restaurants to Plymouth. From burgers to pancakes, the city added some variety to its list of eateries. Check out the new (or remodeled) restaurants that set up shop in Plymouth in 2012.
A new upper casual dining restaurant called the Eat Shop Kitchen and Bar opened in September on County Road 24 off Highway 55 in the old Joe Senser's spot.
"We've put a lot of time, effort and funds into making this happen," Owner Michael Larson said. "We have hired some great staff who have been through rigorous training that will produce smart service. They will know about the food."
CherryBerry Self-Serve Frozen Yogurt opened for business July 17 near Highway 55 and Vicksburg Lane.
For 45 cents an ounce, Plymouth residents can now fill up their cup with flavors of frozen yogurt such as Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Bun and American Apple Pie.
Five Guys, a trendy burger joint, opened in January in the old Blockbuster building near Target off 494 and Rockford Road.
"We grow by demand,” said Five Guys Plymouth Owner Scott Lesser. “We love the people in the Twin Cities and feel fortunate to bring another Five Guys to the market.”
Lucky's 13 Pub opened Nov. 12 with daily features, happy hour, live music on weekends and Bingo twice a week. The new location is right next to the Comfort Inn, near Interstate 494 and Hwy 55, right off Fernbrook Lane.
The place has the capacity for about 350 inside and another 150 on the patio. Lucky 13's motto has been and continues to be "Where strangers become friends and friends become family."
The Original Pancake House opened in March after relocating from the Wayzata Bay Shopping Center.
With slightly more space in the 47,000 square feet in Plymouth, the Pancake House is in the spot where a Pizza Hut used to reside, in the same plaza center as the Minnesota School of Business.
This happy hour hot spot in Plymouth, just off Carlson Parkway, is now under new management and is sporting a new look.
In November the bar was expanded, floors were refinished and coated, the bartop and tabletops were refinished and walls were painted. Plus, booths were added to both the bar area and the restaurant area.
