With spring already in full swing and Easter just around the corner, Patch has collected a list of the 2012 Easter hunts and events around the west metro.

Eggstravaganza

  • When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 6
  • Where: Fish Lake Regional Park in Maple Grove
  • Why go: Games, live bunnies, crafts and treats. Meet a giant rabbit and search for special eggs.
  • Price:  $6 for pre-registration, $7 day of event. Children under two free.

Easter Egg Hunt

Community Easter Egg Hunt

  • When: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7
  • Where:  Commons Park in Excelsior
  • Why go: Easter egg hunts (children divided by age group), food and prizes. Open to children toddler to age 11. Hosted by Our Savior Lutheran Church and School.
  • Price: Free. Parking alongside Commons Park and lots behind businesses on Water Street.

Spring Celebration at The Woods

  • When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 7
  • Where: The Woods in Maple Grove
  • Why go: Visit with the Easter bunny, live animals from Hemker’s Wildlife Farm. The Easter bunny is available 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., animals 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Price: Free

Easter Eggstravaganza

  • When: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 7
  • Where: Unity Christ Church in Golden Valley
  • Why go: Easter egg hunt, games and activities. Open to all ages. Bring basket or buckets for the egg hunt.
  • Price: Suggested donation of $5 per child, $10 per family.

Easter Egg Hunt

  • When: 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7
  • Where: Victory Baptist Church in Maple Grove
  • Why go: Kids 4 to 10-years-old can participate in an Easter Egg Hunt
  • Price: Free

Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt

  • When: 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Sunday, April 8
  • Where: Christ’s Community Church in Maple Grove
  • Why go: Easter egg hunt for children and breakfast
  • Price: Free

Passion Church Service/Easter Egg Hunt

  • When: 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday, April 8
  • Where: Maple Grove Senior High in Maple Grove
  • Why go: About 20,000 candy-filled plastic eggs to be hunted. Open to 12 and under. Parents and those 12 and older can participate in the Easter worship in the auditorium.
  • Price: Free, registration required online here.

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Mass and Egg Hunt

  • When: Following 10 a.m. worship service Sunday, April 8
  • Where: Anglican Church of St. Dunstan, St. Louis Park
  • Why go: Enjoy bunch and an Easter Egg hunt after mass.
  • Price: Free

Animal Open House and Egg Hunt

  • When: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 14
  • Where: Southshore Community Center in Excelsior
  • Price: Free with a donation to the ICA Excelsior Food Shelf.
