West Lutheran H.S. Welcomes Grandparents
Grandparents spent a wonderful day with their grandchildren at West Lutheran High School.
Nearly sixty grandparents enjoyed a day at West Lutheran High School during the 2012 Grandparents' Day on Friday, Sept. 21. The day started with the grandparents gathering for coffee and doughnuts in the school cafeteria. Principal Merl Meitner presented an overview of the school's upcoming academic year and history teacher and development coordinator Gary Bain welcomed the grandparents and informed them of the day's agenda.
Joining their grandchildren, the grandparents attended chapel led by Pastor Darren Green of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Monticello. After the service, teachers welcomed the grandparents as they attended morning classes with the West students.
The grandparents also had the opportunity to be part of Spirit day of homecoming week with the decorated halls and commons area and with students proudly wearing the school colors of green, black and white. The special day ended with a pizza lunch and many hugs and kisses.
