I, too, saw a beaver swimming in Three Ponds Park in Plymouth yesterday and there were trees near the shore ready to fall down from beavers chewing on them. Also seen a couple garden snakes, plenty of geese and ducks and squirrels. Spring is here!

These are muskrats on west Medicine Lake about 15 feet from shore sitting on the ice on March 14, 2012. Two would swim down and collect junk while the other two would guard the collected junk. Amazing to watch.

I just finished my walk around Three Ponds Park. Just a few rare patches of thin ice left on the the ponds. Pussy willows forming and ducks, geese and people were enjoying the wonderful early spring weather! Oh, and a muskrat too!

The bird in flight is probably a Great Blue Heron. They are seen frequently at Three Ponds Park and at Bass Lake.

Two days ago we photographed 8 egrets, and several wood ducks at Three Ponds Park. Check out the park for a great walk and lots of photo ops. sal strand

The snakes are probably simple grass snakes. We have found them in nests under the playground equipment at Three Ponds Park. They catch mice, moles, frogs and insects for you. No need to hinder them unless they are in the house! sal strand

The exhibit is great! I've also seen more herons and other birds on the ponds near my house. The recent rains have made everything so green too!

Congratulations to all 18 contestants in the WHS Survivor contest. What a fun week of challenges, contests and team work. Thanks to the student council for putting on such a great event and for raising thousands of dollars raised for charity.
