WHAT

Midwest Independent Publishers Association’s (MIPA’S) February 2013 Meeting – Getting Books into the Hands of Readers

WHEN

Wednesday, February 13, 2013, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

DETAILS

Publishers, distributors and authors face an uphill battle when it comes to getting books into the hands of potential readers. The competition is fierce -- with so many titles and so many other forms of entertainment (from smartphones to NetFlix). How can we better work together to accomplish the goal of selling books?

Join Bill Mockler of Consortium Books, a major distributor for independent publishers; David Enyeart, events coordinator and assistant manager at Common Good Books in St. Paul; and Colleen Baldrica, author of “Tree Spirited Woman,” a highly popular title published by Beaver’s Pond Press, for a lively discussion about things they have all done to get reader attention and move books. This will be both a discussion and Q&A.
