Community Corner

River Valleys Girl Scouts Centennial Day of Service

On October 13, River Valleys' Girl Scouts will prevent 20,000 pounds of phosphorus from entering waterways by raking and bagging organic debris like grass and leaves. This will keep our water safe and clean by preventing 10 million pounds of algae growth.

Girl Scouts, their families and community volunteers will be participating in this council-wide event at the Hilde Performance Center (approximately 3500 Plymouth Blvd. This is behind the City Hall/Public Safety Building complex and adjacent to Life Time Fitness) starting at 9:00 a.m.

We invite you to join us in helping to keep our waterways clean and preserving plant and wildlife.  Bring rakes, gloves and a smile!

Reminder:  Please keep leaves and other debris away from storm drains to prevent further algae growth.
