Plymouth Fundraiser For Jablonski Jan. 30

All day Monday, Jan. 30, you can help out the Jack Jablonski Fund by eating at Buffalo Wild Wings in Plymouth or Chanhassen.

Get some chicken wings any time Monday, Jan. 30, at and a percentage of the proceeds will go to the Jack Jablonski Fund.

The Fund is a concerted effort from the greater community to help raise funds to help Jablonski, a Benilde-St. Margaret High School hockey player who during a Dec. 30 game against got knocked head first into the side boards of the rink and suffered a major spinal injury.

Jablonski, a sophomore student athlete at BSM, has a serious spinal cord injury and broke two vertebrae. Though undergoing successful surgery to fuse three vertebrae to protect the spinal cord from further injury, the cord was severed in the accident causing pervasive paralysis.

"All the BSM families are invested in the effort," said Ric Lager, owner of the local business Lager & Company Inc. "Jack is one of my son’s best friends on and off the ice. The BSM community is coming together to help one of its own kids.  Every BSM hockey parent I know realizes that their son or daughter could be in Jack’s position now."

Jablonski was discharged from the hospital and sent to a rehab clinic.

According to a post by Jablonski's family on his CaringBridge website, Jablonski was transferred from the Hennepin County Medical Center to Sister Kenny Rehabilitation at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

If you eat at Plymouth's Buffalo Wild Wings Jan. 30, 10 percent of all pre-taxed food and non-alcoholic beverage sales from all guests go toward the Fund.

"We have had a huge outreach of local businesses that want to help raise money for Jack," Lager said. "Last week it was Applebee’s in St. Louis Park, this week it is the Dairy Queen in Golden Valley. Next week it is the Buffalo Wild Wings in Plymouth. All these events are an important part of our BSM effort for Jack."
