Snow Alert: Plymouth Snow Removal Crews Will Hit Streets Tuesday Morning

Crews from the City of Plymouth will begin removing snow at 7 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

The City of Plymouth has issued a Snow Emergency Alert for residents in the community. 

The city released the follwing information shortly before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5.

Full City Snow Removal in the City of Plymouth will begin at 7:00 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 5th. Please be patient and drive carefully. Thank you!

As part of Plymouth's plowing procedures, residents are reminded "parking is prohibited on city streets after a 2 ½ inch snowfall," according to the Plymouth city website. "Parking may not resume on the street until it has been plowed curb-to-curb. Violators may be tagged and towed. In addition to parking restrictions related to snow plowing, Plymouth prohibits parking on city streets year-round from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m."

Hennepin County continues to be under a winter storm warning, according to the National Weather Service. It is in effect until noon today.

Due to weather and road conditions, several Plymouth schools were canceled as well.

Wayzata Public Schools, Robbinsdale Area Schools and Osseo Area Schools announced this morning there will be no school today, due to the inclement weather conditions.

KARE 11 listed that all three districts districts canceled classes early Tuesday morning after heavy snow fell overnight, with six to eight inches on the ground now from Winter Storm Saturn.

Hopkins Public Schools will open two hours late, according to KARE 11.
