According to the Music in Plymouth website, the MN Orchestra won't be performing this year because of uncertainty with the ongoing labor dispute between management and musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra during planning of this year's event. This is first time the MN Orchestra has not performed.

With more than 15,000 people coming to Music in Plymouth each year, bringing blankets and chairs, picnic meals and snacks, the event is planned carefully to ensure everything goes well. In case of inclement weather, the entire line up could be rescheduled, including fireworks, for 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 9.

The entire evening’s events will be simulcast on large screens that have been added to enhance visual accessibility for the crowd. Children will also be able to enjoy face painters and crazy hair. A variety of concessions will be available.

With the improvements at Hilde during the past several years, there is a policy not to put in stakes or rope off seating areas because of underground wiring and sprinkling systems.

Hilde's site will be closed for maintenance prior to the event. Residents won't be allowed to leave blankets, chairs or tarps on the ground until after 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 2.

The city has shuttle services on the evening of Music in Plymouth. The shuttle services begin at 4:30 p.m. and continue throughout the evening from West Lutheran High School on Harbor Lane and Plymouth Creek Elementary School on 41st Avenue North.
