A new sweet treat option will be opening soon near Plymouth.
Gigi’s Cupcakes is preparing for an end of February opening in nearby Golden Valley.
Owned by Aaron and Jamie Clayborn, who live near the Plymouth/Minnetonka border, will operate the franchise business located in Golden Valley Commons off of Olson Memorial Highway.
“We love the small town feeling just outside the city,” Jamie said. “The Commons is an area people like to hangout when the weather is tolerable, and a cupcakes shop is perfect for the area. The location is great right off of Highway 55, close to businesses and yet in a family oriented area.”
Gigi’s Cupcakes focuses on selling cupcakes, mini cupcakes and cheesecake cupcakes baked fresh every morning.
“There are 36 flavors offered weekly, which are featured on the gigiscupcakesusa.com website. Gigi’s does offer over 200 flavors total in which we will provide a couple as baker’s choice daily. Sunday’s are also baker’s choice; customers can sure help us decide on flavors too,” Jamie said
Gigi’s will also cater weddings, wedding showers, office parties, meetings, birthday parties, wedding, and baby showers.
“Gigi’s Cupcakes sets itself apart from its competitors with its signature ‘swirl’ and the fact that each cupcake’s freshly baked on the premises every morning. Our frosting is piled high on most of the cupcakes. We will also feature gluten free cupcakes weekly,” Jamie said.
The Golden Valley Gigi’s Cupcakes location will have 13-15 employees and is considered the 82nd location for the business nationwide. Gigi’s Cupcakes was founded in 2008 by Gigi Butler in Nashville, TN.
As for prices, each cupcake will be $3.25; a dozen will run for $36.
“We will offer coupons, promotions, and Facebook promotions. For instance, July is customer appreciation month where we will be having weekly offers. We will offer buy three get one free sporadically,” Jamie said. “We also have reward cards for free cupcakes.”
