Housing Development Expands in Plymouth

The Plymouth City Council approved another 11 homes on the Hampton Hills South Plateu development.

A housing development in the former Hampton Hills Golf Course is expanding. The city recently approved the third expansion to the site.

The Hampton Hills South Plateau was first approved by the city in February 2012. Developers planned to build 64 homes in the area. The first and second phase were approved by the council last year, allowing 40 homes on the site.

Now, the developer will move forward with another 11 homes on roughly three acres of land. Hampton Hills South Plateau is one of 17 new housing developments approved in the last three years in Plymouth.

According to city documents, the developer was hoping to secure more land from Canadian Pacific Railroad, but after more than a year of talks, the idea was abandoned.

Seven of the homes will line Bass Creek, with homes as close as 300 feet to the water. According to city documents, the developer has created a plan to build near the creek.

Construction is already underway on the first two phases; the third phase could start as early as this summer.
