Plymouth Issues Second Snow Emergency Alert

The city of Plymouth has issued a second snow emergency alert on Dec. 9. 

The city asks residents' for their patience as it takes up to 12 hours to plow all the city's streets and plowing won't begin til around 2 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10. Potentially some streets may not see a city plow for a second time til as late as 2 p.m. Monday.

The city notified the public of the first plowing during the blizzard conditions would start noon on Sunday.

The National Weather Service reported that the blizzard warning remained in effect for much of west central Minnesota through Sunday evening with strong winds possible creating near whiteout conditions.

A winter storm warning remained in effect through midnight Sunday night into Monday morning for east central Minnesota and west central Wisconsin.

Southern Minnesota remained under a winter weather advisory for light to moderate snowfall with snow drifting from the strong winds. 

Travel was discouraged Sunday night or until Monday morning. Temperatures were reported to plummet over night into Monday with wind chills reading as low as nine below in Plymouth. The high for Monday was forecasted for 10 degrees above 0.

No further snow accumulation was predicted for the Monday morning commute as of late Sunday night.
