Three Unique Ways to Lose Weight in Plymouth

Is your New Year's resolution to lose weight? If you're looking for options other than joining a gym, check out our list of unique exercise ideas.

To drop those unwanted pounds without feeling like a hamster on a treadmill, Plymouth Patch has put together a list of weight loss ideas. The ideas are specific to Plymouth so you don’t have to go far to keep your resolution this year.

Head over to Plymouth’s own trampoline park and jump away the pounds. The facility has specially designed classes that burn up to 1,000 calories per hour. The SkyRobics class offers advanced calisthenics, core exercises and strength building aerobics, all done on trampolines. Classes are $12.

The Yoga Studio, which is locally owned and operated, offers a variety of classes. Whether you know the difference between downward facing dog and the locust pose doesn’t matter, there are classes for every level.  One month of unlimited classes is $100. The studio sits at 3900 Vinewood Lane.

Three Rivers Park District offers a variety of outdoor classes that will boost your heart rate and shed calories. Bundle up and head to a cross-country class, take a hike with snowshoes or do a little geocaching in the great outdoors. Classes are held weeknights at French Regional Park, off 494 and Rockford Road. Check out the park district website for a full schedule with dates and times.
