Founded in 2000 and recently relocated to Plymouth, independently-owned American Guitar Boutique is a Gibson Five Star dealer, part of a select network of shops considered the finest destination for Gibson guitars. These unique and highly-prized instruments are a mix of historic and innovative models created only for AGB and its Five Star peers. They are constructed with the expertise and close supervision of the master builders in Bozeman with only a limited number available worldwide. This month, owner Cory Lake is collaborating with Gibson to bring an unprecedented selection of instruments and experts to the Twin Cities for a one-day showcase that is open to the public.
Gibson Guitar Showcase Featuring Mike Scaccia of Ministry
When: 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17,
Where: American Guitar Boutique, 3405 Annapolis Lane, Suite 101, Plymouth, MN 55447
On Saturday, November 17, AGB will host a Gibson USA event with a guitar clinic led by Mike Scaccia, a core member of the band Ministry who has been at the forefront of heavy metal guitar for over 30 years. Josh Carey, Gibson Custom Shop Product Specialist, Jeremy Morton, Gibson Montana Product and Customer Service Specialist and Rich Casciato, AGB’s local Gibson liaison, will host the day with a series of promotions including free Gibson t-shirts with every "test-driven” guitar, special event pricing and an Epiphone guitar give-away.
According to Lake, “This is an incredible opportunity to talk to the individuals who actually see these guitars being designed and manufactured, who know everything that is being developed in the industry. I am enormously proud of our relationship with Gibson and their enthusiasm for spending time in the Twin Cities specifically to provide a wealth of information and the best possible deals to our clients.”
Established in 2000, American Guitar Boutique is among the nation’s premier independent musical instrument retailers. Owned and operated by Cory Lake, a guitar collector and recording engineer, AGB was named one of Guitar Player magazine’s top independent stores in the nation, and its discreet professional location is a haven and haunt for collectors of boutique gear.
AGB buys, sells, trades, offers expert repairs and a wide-ranging lesson program including guitar, bass, drums, band and orchestra instruments. The shop routinely hosts free, private clinics with top touring musicians and renowned gear builders, and sells instruments to over 90 countries worldwide. AGB is the only music store invited to create a pop-up shop in Neiman Marcus, and Lake's ongoing interest in the intersection of design and music has led to his reputation as an industry innovator.
