'Lifelong Educator' Dies of Sudden Illness

Plymouth resident Donald Loren Wolter was 73.

A memorial service has been scheduled for June 30 for Plymouth man who died unexpectedly May 30 in Ketchum, ID, according to a Wood River Chapel obituary.

Donald Loren Wolter died of a sudden illness at the age of 73.

Wolter’s family described him as a lifelong educator. As a Nordic skiing coach, he shared his passion with thousands of people. He also tutored his grandchildren into his last days.

Wolter was a Fulbright scholar who’d traveled to more than 70 countries. He loved the German language. He was also an avid cyclist, hiker, bowler, canoeist and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, son, daughter, sister, nieces, nephews cousins and other family members.

The memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. June 30 at Plymouth Creek Center (14800 34th Ave., Plymouth).
