Obituary: James A. Spaulding of Plymouth

Visitation and funeral service is Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel.

James A. Spaulding, 64, of Plymouth died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

He was born July 16, 1948.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Sharon; children, Jennifer (Blake), Jeffrey (Avril), Joshua (Anne), and Jessica; eight grandchildren, Cole, Aria, Henry, Beck, Spencer, Lachlan, Laird, and Leo; mother, Irene; brother, John; and many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Howard, and brothers Bob and Paul.  

James was a graduate of Wayzata High School and the University of Minnesota and a decorated Marine who proudly served in Vietnam.  He loved hockey, cars, motorcycles, golden retrievers and above all, watching his grandchildren and children enjoy life.

James was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2007. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23.

Visitation is 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. on the same day and in the same location.
