To the Editor:
I have lived on Medicine Lake since 1984, and been very involved for many years on behalf of the lake, serving on state and local organizations with the goal of lake improvement. I have had the opportunity to work with Sara as the incumbent Three Rivers Parks Commissioner for our area. She is a true environmentalist and cares about people. She makes herself available to work on creative solutions for people using the parks, not just with an interest in the lakes, but also the forest and other natural resources. She has done this while working to keep costs low.
Sara’s opponent says nothing about the environment on her website. The only things she lists are costs and so called transparency. Who would run for an environmental job and not provide her views on the environment to voters? Would she value the resources including things like a tree nursery that most of us don’t even know about or would she penny pinch at the expense of the resource and strong park system that TRPD represents? We don’t know because she is withholding information about her views and trading on her name recognition and party support. I do not see transparency there.
I urge everybody in the community that Sara represents to support her for this important environmental post. Sara is an independent and running without party support. It is up to us to elect her. She is all about caring about the people and the environment.
