VOTE FOR DAN HAUGEN

Dear Supporters of Wayzata Public Schools,

I have known Dr. Dan Haugen for over 25 years. I first met Dan when he was a parent in the Wayzata School District.  I was an administrator in the Wayzata Special Services Department for over 20 years.  We met again when he was Executive Director of the Neighborhood Involvement Program where I completed my internship for the Adler Graduate School of Psychology.  Dan was also one of my instructors.  Later, I became a Board member and then Board Chair of the Adler Graduate School. I worked closely with Dan while he was vice-president and then president of the Adler Graduate School in developing policies for this rapidly growing Graduate School.

Dan is interested in the positive growth of students and their families, academically, socially and emotionally. Among his strengths are diversity, family engagement, extra-curricular activities and student/family support services.  Dan has a mastery of fiscal issues including budgeting, capital expenses, and materials/supplies.

In all my interactions with Dan and my observations of his working with others, he displays sincere honesty, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to quickly grasp complicated concepts and interactions, and ability to conceptualize and develop solutions. Dan’s interpersonal skills are outstanding.  He is truly interested in the opinions of others, listens and considers all viewpoints, and makes well-informed decisions.

I sincerely and wholeheartedly endorse Dan Haugen as a candidate for the Wayzata School Board. His experience on several non-profit Boards, combined with his knowledge of schools, students and families make him a desirable candidate.  If elected, students, parents, and school personnel will indeed be very fortunate to have such a qualified Board member.
