4. Where did you go to school? What city do you live in now?

I graduated from Wayzata High School and attended the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota earning a Bachelor of Science in Business.  I’ve lived in the District over 60 years and have been in Plymouth the past 40.

5. How old are you?

63

6. Do you have a spouse, children or any other family members you’d like to tell voters about?

My wife Mary and I have been married for 42 years and met at Wayzata High School.  She is a middle school teacher in the Minnetonka School District.  We have three daughers, Molly, Jill and Ellen, who all graduated from Wayzata.  Mary and I have six grandsons ranging from 4 months to 7 years old.

7. What are your campaign goals?

I want Wayzata to continue and increase its Academic Excellence, maintain the District’s AAA bond rating and its Fiscal Responsibility that has been earned over the last 20 years, and prudently plan for the growth the District is currently experiencing and projected to have in the future including preparing for additional school facilities.

8. What issues are you most focused on for the Wayzata School District?

I am focused on maintaining the Academic Excellence of the District.  It is imperative we continue to meet the individual needs of each student by expanding curriculum and extra curricular opportunities, and integrating and increasing technology while addressing the projected growth of the District and the need for additional facilities.

9. Why should voters choose you?

People should vote for me because I can and will do what is best, long term, for all students and the District no matter how popular or unpopular a subject or position may be.  I believe in long term planning and not accepting a short-term solution to make a problem go away.  I have the time, knowledge, passion, and experience to continue the District on its path of excellence.
