Woman Charged with Meth Possession in Plymouth

Police say Sheila Rae Mesker of Buffalo had .11 grams of methamphetamine in her car when they stopped her last week in Plymouth for traffic violations.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Buffalo woman arrested last week in Plymouth and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Sheila Rae Mesker, also known as Shelia Mesker, 38, was supposed to have made a first appearance in Hennepin County District Court Monday. When she failed to show up for the hearing, authorities issued a warrant for her arrest.

Mesker is charged with fifth-degree drug possession, a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Mesker was released May 4 on a $3,000 bond. When she failed to appear Monday, she forfeited that bond.

According to the criminal complaint, signed by Plymouth Police Sgt. Jon Hunt, a Plymouth officer stopped Mesker’s car for traffic violations at 6:45 p.m. May 2 on Highway 55 just west of Highway 169.

An officer checked Mesker’s record and discovered that her driver’s license had been revoked. Mesker told the officer that although she didn’t have proof of insurance, she did have insurance; however, the officer determined that the insurance was terminated on Feb. 13.

The officer detected an odor of burnt marijuana coming from Mesker’s vehicle and noted that Mesker seemed “very nervous” during their conversation, according to the complaint. Her car also had “multiple” air fresheners stuck in its air vents, the complaint says.

The officer searched the car and found a glass pipe in the ashtray that smelled like marijuana, along with an unlabeled prescription bottle containing four pills and a small white rocklike substance, which was tested later. The substance was .11 grams of methamphetamine, according to the complaint.

Anyone with information on Mesker’s whereabouts should contact local authorities.
