UPDATED: Family Escapes Plymouth Garage Fire

A house garage fire early Oct. 10 on Carlson Pkwy in Plymouth displaces three people.

At 4:32 a.m. this morning, Oct. 10, Plymouth Fire was dispatched to a house fire at 14420 Carlson Parkway.

The occupants had evacuated safely and no one was injured, residents or firefighters, said Plymouth Fire Chief Rick Kline.

The fire was placed under control approximately 40 minutes following arrival, he said.

Smoke could be seen in the area near Interstates 394 and 494. Mutual aid from Golden Valley and Minnetonka was dispatched.

The fire ripped through the house's attached garage and extended into the second floor dwelling area, Kline said.

Three residents will be displaced  for an indefinite period of time as a result of the fire. The estimated loss from fire, water and smoke damage is $250,000.

The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation.
