Plymouth Fire Department Discourages Outdoor Burning

The DNR has placed Hennepin County in a "restricted burning" status due to dry weather.

Due to recent dry weather the Plymouth Fire Department discourages residents to do any outdoor burning even if you have a permit.

According to the city of Plymouth, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has placed Hennepin County in a “restricted burning” status. 

As a result, the Plymouth Fire Department is discouraging any type of burning until the DNR changes the status and the metro area receives substantial rain.

According to the National Weather Service rain was possible Tuesday overnight and is possible this morning. Here's the week's outlook so far according to the NWS:

Today: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 10am, then isolated showers between 10am and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 75. North wind 13 to 17 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light west after midnight.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. West wind 5 to 9 mph.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 67.
