Plymouth Fire Department Helps At Maple Grove House Fire

The home was struck by lightning this morning, but homeowners got out safely, according to Maple Grove Fire Chief Scott Anderson.

A home near 63rd Place North and Zircon Lane North in Maple Grove was destroyed Tuesday morning after a lighting strike started a fire. The blaze started on the 18800 block of 63rd Place North near the border of Plymouth and Maple Grove.

The call came shortly after 6 a.m. to the residential neighborhood. Maple Grove Fire Chief Scott Anderson said the homeowners were alerted to the fire when they smelled smoke. The home's occupants got out safely and called 911.

The fire started after a lightning strike, according to Anderson who said four of the Maple Grove fire stations responded along with the Plymouth Fire Department. The blaze was contained primarily to the roof and second floor.

As of 7:15 a.m., firefighters continued on the scene. It was too early to tell whether the home would be considered a total loss, according to Anderson.

My husband is always funny And he thought this would be a catchy Ad. I stared collecting Teddy BearsRead More after we started dating and he sang the Teddy Bear song on my voice mail (by Elvis Presely)over 20 years ago he is the most soft gentle huggable man so I always call him my Teddy Bear. So my collection had gotten too big and I would love to share with others who may need something soft to hug
