Plymouth Fire Department Looking for Paid On-Call Firefighters

Four new firefighters are coming on board this week and will get the oath of office Tuesday.

The Plymouth Fire Department will host a recruitment meeting 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 15, at Fire Station No. 3 on Dunkirk Lane in Plymouth.
At the meeting people can learn about serving as a paid on-call firefighter, outline job requirements, answer questions about the work and talk about how you incorporate being a firefighter into the rest of your life.

According to the city of Plymouth's website
"No matter your regular profession, you can still be a paid-on-call firefighter.
It’s a part-time job that offers an hourly wage, a chance to qualify for a pension, extensive training and the satisfaction of providing an essential public service."

At the Tuesday, June 11, regular Plymouth City Council meeting City Clerk Sandy Engdahl will give the oath of office to four new firefighter recruits: Daniel Erhard, Steven Nelson, Timothy Peterson and Daniel Schnuettgen.

You can contact Heidi Sanderson at 763-509-5120 for more information or if you're interested in being a Plymouth Firefighter.

You can watch Plymouth Fire Chief Rick Kline talk about firefighting in this YouTube video.
