School Bus Crash on Vicksburg Lane, Two Injured

A car collided with a First Student school bus just before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of 57th Avenue North and Vicksburg Lane.

A school bus was driving north on Vicksburg Lane when a car at a stop sign on 57th Avenue North pulled in front of the bus Friday morning, according to police.

The bus was part of the Wayzata School District, according to a Wayzata Public Schools transportation dispatcher.

"Both occupants in the car were injured and both were transported to a hospital," Plymouth Police Department Sgt. Curtis Smith said in an interview with Patch. "Their injuries were not minor, but not life-threatening. No children were injured."

The Plymouth Fire Department was called to help extricate the driver.

Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.

After the collision, the bus was inspected and was still safe to drive.
