Storm Causes Messy Morning Commute
Commutes were an additional 30 minutes for most people heading to work this morning, according to MN DOT.
The Monday morning commute was slow going after Sunday night’s storm. The system dumped about a foot of snow on metro roadways. According to the MN Department of Transportation website, eleven accidents occurred in the metro between 6:30a.m. and 7:30a.m.
One crash on 494 and 394 blocked the left shoulder to oncoming traffic. This was just one of the 637 accidents that occurred between 9:30p.m. and 6:00a.m. this morning. Of those accidents, 63 involved injuries and one was fatal.

The city of Plymouth has issued a snow emergency. The city asks residents' for their patience as it takes up to 12 hours to plow all the city's streets. In some cases, certain streets may not see a city plow for a second time until as late as 2 p.m. Monday.

As of 8:00 a.m., schools in Plymouth were open. West Lutheran High School in Plymouth was delayed one hour. Perpich Arts High School in Golden Valley was delayed two hours. Closing information courtesy of KARE 11 News.
