Two vehicles were hit in the eastbound lane of Highway 55. One car's window had to be broken to get the driver out and another the door had to be removed to get them out.

The area is usually pretty busy at the time, Groth said. No elderly, young children or teens were involved in the accident.

Plymouth had several fire trucks on the scene and police officers who responded. There was also mutual aid from Golden Valley and the Minnesota State Patrol.

Groth did not have information on any identification of the people involved.

The road is now open and traffic has cleared since the accident.
