Two Vehicle Accident Sends Plymouth Man To Hospital

Two vehicles collided tonight on the Rockford Road overpass going over Interstate 494 in Plymouth.

A 68-year-old Plymouth received minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Rockford Road over Interstae 494 in Plymouth Wednesday night Jan. 18.

There were no other injuries. The Plymouth man was brought to the hospital for a possible back or neck injury, said Plymouth Sgt. Topp.

"It wasn't quite a head-on collision, but more of one vehicle failing to yield to the other one while it was turning to go northbound onto 494 from Rockford," Topp said.

The Plymouth man was driving in a van and was trying to make the turn when a 30-year-old Moorhead man in his truck failed to yield.

The call came into police at 6:56 p.m. and crews arrived on the scene at 7 p.m.

Plymouth Police, emergency responders and State Patrol were on the scene, crews were nearly finished cleaning up debris on Rockford overpass by 7:45 p.m.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene on flatbeds and were totaled.
