U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-MN) wrote in a Politico op-ed posted Sunday that the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) economic treaty with Europe 'is a golden opportunity for America.' Paulsen and his co-author, U.S. Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA) wrote:
A comprehensive trade and investment partnership with the EU is good for American job creators and workers and should be welcomed in Congress as one opportunity we can all embrace.
Art, Art, Art
Visual art was on Paulsen's agenda three ways in the last week:
- Paulsen congratulated Carlson Nelson, a third-grader at Maranatha Christian Academy in Brooklyn Park, on reaching the finals of the national Doodle4Google contest in the K–3 category with his Fishing in Alaska picture. Voting continues through Friday evening.
- Paulsen awarded the Third District grand prize in the 2013 Congressional Art Competition to Park Center senior Virgina Yang. Her artwork, See It with Your Eyes, will be on display at the U.S. Capitol for one year.
- Paulsen invited submissions of photos of Third District scenes for posting on his office's website and social media pages.
Paulsen visited Osseo Senior High School on April 29, 2013. Principal Dr. Robert Perdaems said:
“Erik Paulsen’s visit was also a great day for the school. He came as a learner, interested in the programs we offer that connect to the STEM initiative. He visited multiple classrooms, spoke directly with students about their work, observed that work in progress, and came away, I believe, impressed with programs at OSH.”
