Back to School: Open Houses For Wayzata Elementary Schools

A list of open house events for each elementary school in the Wayzata School District.

It's that time of year again. Time to check out your school and classroom before the big first day of school. The first day of school for the Wayzata School District is Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Seven elementary schools in the Wayzata School District have numerous back to school events and activities happening this month. The following is grouped by school and goes in chronological order:

• : open house K-5 and Curriculum Night grades 3-5 is 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. From 3:30 to 4 p.m. kindergarten families are welcome to check out the kindergarten playground and get acquainted with other families. Kindergarten, first and second grade is 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 Thursday, Sept. 6, with two identitical presentations offered for each grade level.

• : open house and curriculum night 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. Kindergarten families can stop by between 4-6 p.m. to rooms 27 through 30 to meet teachers, pick up supplies, review bus information, and find
cubbies and coat hooks. A separate kindergarten curriculum night is 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13.

• : new family orientation is 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28. The school's open house for all other families is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.

• : Come visit the school and meet the teachers at the open house 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. There are no other activities in the building.

• : open house/curriculum night 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29.

• : open house 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.

• : the school's PTA will host a picnict to welcome families 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29. Classrooms will be open to meet your teacher and find your locker. The whole school and outside area will be used from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. No other activities in the school that night.
