Students who attend Osseo Schools will get another day off.

A message from Osseo Schools:

"Hello, this is Superintendent Kate Maguire contacting all Osseo Area Schools families with an important message about a weather-related school closing. Due to continuing severe weather with dangerous wind chills, your student’s school will be closed again tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7. Classes will not be held and the buildings will be closed. All after-school and evening activities are also cancelled, except for the School Board meetings, which will take place as scheduled Tuesday evening. Please plan to have your student return to school on Wednesday, January 8, unless you receive another message regarding your school’s status. Thank you."

On Friday, Gov. Mark Dayton ordered that public schools be closed statewide Monday. The Minnesota Department of Education officially announced Monday morning that all school districts would be able to decide whether to remain closed on Tuesday.

Forecasters predict Tuesday’s high will be -1 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chill values as low as -35 degrees.
