The Trojans beat Minnetonka and will face top-seeded Benilde-St. Margaret’s Wednesday.

The Wayzata High School boys hockey team will look to win a Section 6AA championship this week.

After beating number two seed Minnetonka 5-1 in the Trojans will take on the Red Knights on Wednesday for the section title.

The Trojans got off to a good start Saturday, scoring one goal in the first. Minnetonka tried to even the game in the second period with a goal, but the Trojans dominated the third period scoring two more.

Wayzata has their work cut out for them as they move into Wednesday. In a section 6AA preview on MNHockeyHub.com, writer Loren Nelson said that Benilde-St. Margaret’s players, the defending champions, have the state’s “most explosive offense.”
