As we begin the next phase of Election 2012, we know the rhetoric and the smears will intensify. Many records of accomplishment will be distorted for political gain. As I reflect on this, I understand the importance of sharing who I am, beyond my political views, as a person, a daughter, a business woman, a mother, a wife ...

Today I write to share with you an unusual aspect of my life - a friendship between my Dad and Jim Klobuchar that dates back nearly forty years. Their connection to each other and to their daughters is powerful.  

A few weeks ago, they sat down with each other to reflect on their friendship and their daughters mutual commitment to governing in a way that brings people together and moves our state and nation forward.
