20 Plymouth Volunteers Recognized With Service Awards (Part II)

This video and story is two of five in a series of the June volunteer service awards ceremony in Plymouth.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the city of Plymouth's volunteer program, the city recognized 20 of its top volunteers at a recognition event June 27 at the Hilde Performance Center.

Volunteers past and present were invited to enjoy free ice cream before a performance of the Wild Goose Chase Cloggers. Then 20 volunteers chosen by a committee for their significant impact during the past 20 years were honored and brought up on stage.

Plymouth's Volunteer Coordinator Jackie Maas spoke about each volunteer or volunteer group and introduced them during the event.

Check out the video with this post that includes four of the 20 volunteers being introduced at the June 27 event. The following volunteers recognized included (blurbs quote Maas):

Wayzata High School Club Y.E.S (Youth Extending Service)

"Hundreds of Wayzata High school students have contributed over 2,000 hours through more than 17 years of volunteering with special events. Their nominator, Maas, wrote: 'The YES volunteers provide friendly, enthusiastic customer service to thousands of people who attend the city’s special events each year. They often go the extra step to ensure that peoples’ experiences are positive.' Many young adults I've interview as potential volunteers have told me: 'I volunteered with YES and I loved it so much, I want to keep volunteering.'"

Vern Dotseth

"Dotseth has contributed nearly 300 hours of service through eight years of volunteering with special events and any other wacky thing we asked him to do, including cutting apart flats of native plants, taking down the inflatable screen after a Movies in the Park showing, packaging up tiny seeds and more. Honestly, he has never once told us 'No.' Everyone in the recreation department knows him and considers him our go-to guy to get it done. His nominator wrote, 'He is always ready and willing to help with anything – and he’ll do it with a smile on his face.'"

Jacque Frazzini

"Frazzini has contributed nearly 800 hours through 15 years of service with the Plymouth Arts Council. According to her nominator, 'While she has served in a variety of leadership roles, Jacque’s primary role is as the Primavera Chair. She constantly strives for excellence in the quality and the execution of the event. Her expectations are high and has a work ethic that is second to none. Because of her leadership, the Plymouth Arts Council and their initiatives continue to thrive.'"

Gary Goldetsky

"Gary has contributed over 400 hours during the past six years as a member of the Police department’s Community Emergency Response Team, or CERT, and other Police programs. He has assisted with role playing and instruction with the Police Explorers program and during various training events for our police officers. In addition, he has volunteered to chair the Plymouth Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Program. His nominator wrote: 'Gary’s presence, time and work products are greatly appreciated by our organization.'"
