Become a Hennepin County Master Recycler, Composter

You can sign up for fall classes to master the art of recycling and composting.

Have a passion for recycling, waste reduction or composting? Join fellow waste reduction enthusiasts and become an advocate for the three R’s in your community as a Hennepin County Master Recycler/Composter.

Participants in the Master Recycler/Composter program are trained on waste prevention, recycling and composting through an extensive six-week course that features industry experts and field trips. After completing training, participants commit to volunteer 30 hours on projects that reduce waste generation and increase public awareness of recycling and composting opportunities.

The spring course is 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings, Oct. 2 – 30 and Nov. 13 at the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Headquarters, 2117 W. River Rd. N. inMinneapolis. Optional field trips will take place on Friday, Oct. 12 and 26.
