Allison Scally, choir director at Wayzata Central Middle School and music director for Blue Water's 2012 production mainstage production of Annie, will be the lead director of the camp.
Blue Water Theatre Company of Wayzata has announced their second annual summer elementary school theatre camp for students currently in grades three, four and five (2012-2013 school year). Following the successful and popular elementary school production of Disney's The Jungle Book in 2012, this year Blue Water Theatre Company has decided to produce Disney's Sleeping Beauty. The camp will tackle all elements of the production from the acting, singing and dancing to the creating of costumes, sets and props. It's an excellent opportunity for young kids who are interested in theatre to get their feet wet in what is essentially a mini "real" production. Blue Water Theatre Company will be presenting the musical Company at Bryant-Lake Bowl in Minneapolis from Aug. 22-25. This production is directed by Hopkins High School senior Sam Weisberg, and features a cast of 14 high school and college students. These students represent Carleton College (Northfield), Cretin-Durham Hall, Emerson College (Boston), Hopkins High School, McNally Smith College of Music (Minneapolis), Tufts University (Boston) and Wayzata High School. The show follows Robert, a single man living in New York City, and his varied interactions with his married friends. Blue Water Theatre Company of Wayzata will be presenting the musical comedy “Guys and Dolls” at Wayzata Central Middle School on July 26, 27 and 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $11 for students/seniors and $14 for adults and will be available at the door prior to each performance. "A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum" opens Thursday, June 14.
The Blue Water Theatre Company of Wayzata is excited to announce its upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim's musical "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." Set in ancient Rome, Forum tells the hilarious story of a slave -- Pseudolus -- who works to earn his freedom from his master. One of the most genuinely funny musicals ever written, Forum is sure to be a fantastic night at the theatre! Performances are at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16, at Eisenhower Community Center in Hopkins. Tickets cost $14 for adults and $11 for students. Wayzata-based, nonprofit youth perfomring arts organization, the Blue Water Theatre Company, will have auditions for its upcoming production of "Les Miserables" (School Edition) Saturday, Nov. 12, Sunday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov. 17. Blue Water is located in the lower level of the Wayzata Home Center, 1250 E. Wayzata Boulevard. Auditions are open to all students currently in grades 6-12.
