Social Workers Help Address Newtown Tragedy in ISD 281 Elementary Schools

The district also sent a letter to parents on Friday, offering condolences and words of advice to parents.

In order to continue to provide resources and assistance to Robbinsdale Area Schools families, school counselors will be present in all ISD 281 elementary schools on Monday as students return to class after a shooter killed 20 children  at Sandy Hook Elementary School last Friday. Robbinsdale Area Schools officials also took to Twitter Monday morning to offer resources to parents who are struggling to communicate the news with their children. A link to the Fred Rogers Company provided information on discussing tragic events with children. Public Officials, Businesses Turn to Twitter to Discuss Newtown Elementary School Shooting

Golden Valley resident and District 44B Rep. Ryan Winkler took to Twitter, along with other locals, to offer thoughts on Friday's tragic shooting at a Connecticut elementary school.

In the wake of a shooting that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, Golden Valley resident and 44B Rep. Ryan Winkler and other local businesses and officials are turning to Twitter to offer condolences and bits of advice to those parents who are trying to talk to their children about the horrific event. According to the Associated Press, 27 people are dead, including 18 children, as a result of a shooting at the school. For up to date information on the shooting, visit Newtown Patch.
