The Bridal Spot Store Closes in Plymouth

As of mid-January, an eviction notice was at the store site at Waterford Plaza in Plymouth and the store was vacant.

The closure of a Plymouth business has left a lot of questions – without many answers. The Bridal Spot, located at the Waterford Plaza in Plymouth, closed at the end of December 2012, according to a Star Tribune report. The store’s owner started clearing out the store after Christmas and all merchandise was removed by New Year’s Day, property manager Martha Anderson recently told the Star Tribune. Since Jan. 1, the Minnesota Better Business Bureau received two complaints against The Bridal Spot, according to their website. Both complaints were from customers about merchandise purchased and not received. "I'm disappointed and somewhat angry," customer Molly Meyer told Fox9. "You put a trust in a business." My bridesmaids originally ordered their bridesmaids dresses from here as well and paid in full. Luckily each of the bridesmaids paid using a debit or credit card and not cash. I had each of them call their cardmember service and file an investigation. Each of them got a temporary refund as the issuers perform an investigation. Wedding Consignment Sale at Three Rivers Park District

The wedding décor, supplies, bridemaid dresses, wedding gowns will be at the Jan. 27, 2013 sale.

The following information was provided by Three Rivers Park District. Newlyweds who have celebrated their wedding in Three Rivers Park District park facilities have brought wedding décor, supplies, and wedding gowns to be displayed and sold at the first Wedding Consignment Sale. It will be held on 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Silverwood Park in St. Anthony.   Shoppers who are interested in attending the event can browse unused and gently-used wedding gowns, formal dresses and bridesmaid dresses, shoes, jewelry, tableware, trendy containers and dishes, lanterns, jars, votives, placemats, table runners, card boxes, invitation supplies, candles, props and more. Volunteer of the Week: Liga Hanson

Visitors to the Millennium Garden appreciate this Plymouth volunteer's labor of love.

Plymouth volunteer Liga Hanson would be lost without her broom, dustpan and scissors. In her sixth year of working at the Plymouth Millennium Garden, she carries this equipment with her as she does her part to help maintain the gardens. Born in Latvia, Hanson moved to Germany when she was two and then to America when she was eight. She still speaks Latvian but, “being married to a Norwegian doesn’t give me much practice,” Hanson said. She has always loved being outdoors, especially after a long Minnesota winter. She said becoming a volunteer in the Millennium Garden was “the best thing that happened” that allowed her to be outdoors all summer long. Working two or three days a week, up to three hours each time, Hanson begins by picking up …
