New Developments in Plymouth: 2012 Year in Review

A new Islamic Community Center and a new medical facility are just two of the developments that took place in Plymouth in 2012.

As we look back at 2012, Patch highlights a few of the new developments in Plymouth. The Waters Senior Living broke ground Sept. 26 on its newest senior living community located at Highway 55 and County Road 73/South Shore Drive in Plymouth. The facility is set to open this coming August. Plymouth’s WestHealth broke ground on a new emergency department. The facility will be an 18,000 square-foot building adjacent and attached to the 180,000 square-foot campus. The Center opened in July. It was purchased for $770,000 and sits in the remodeled post office building in downtown Plymouth. The site serves as an educational, spiritual, and community center. New Plymouth Restaurants: Year in Review

Several new restaurants came to the city in 2012.

This year brought several new restaurants to Plymouth. From burgers to pancakes, the city added some variety to its list of eateries. Check out the new (or remodeled) restaurants that set up shop in Plymouth in 2012. A new upper casual dining restaurant called the Eat Shop Kitchen and Bar opened in September on County Road 24 off Highway 55 in the old Joe Senser's spot.  "We've put a lot of time, effort and funds into making this happen," Owner Michael Larson said. "We have hired some great staff who have been through rigorous training that will produce smart service. They will know about the food."
