Friday: Groundbreaking for Park Nicollet-HealthPartners Clinic in Plymouth

The new clinic will include urgent care, medical and dental services for patients of all ages.

After more than 25 years in its current location near I-494 and Highway 55 in Plymouth, Park Nicollet and HealthPartners will break ground on a new facility at 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.

The new 53,000-square-foot facility will be located at the intersection of Highway 55 and County Road 101 in Plymouth. It will better serve the growing Plymouth community and will include a Park Nicollet clinic for patients of all ages and a night and weekend urgent care.

Medical services at the clinic will include urgent care, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, ob-gyn, rehabilitation services, lab, radiology and ultrasound. The facility will also include a HealthPartners Dental Clinic, which will offer general and pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and TMD services.

The link between medical and dental health has been well established in recent years, as oral health complications can be associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

"By having both a medical clinic and dental clinic in one facility, patients will be provided with exceptional care for the entire body," said David Abelson, MD, president of care delivery for Park Nicollet and HealthPartners.

Abelson, Plymouth Mayor Kelli Slavik and HealthPartners CEO Mary Brainerd will speak at the ground breaking ceremony

The new facility scheduled to open in November 2014.
