Uchu Peruvian Restaurant Closes in Plymouth

Uchu Peruvian Cuisine restaurant has closed its doors in Plymouth.

According to a post on its Facebook page, the restaurant closed as recently as this past week:

"IT'S OFFICIAL WE CLOSED OUR RESTAURANT!! WE THANK OUR LOYAL COSTUMERS FOR THEIR SUPPORT. IT'S BEEN A PLEASURE SHOWING TO MINNESOTA OUR PERUVIAN CUISINE!! GOD BLESS ALL!!!"

The restaurant opened in the summer of 2011 by Jorge Sarmiento who is originally from Peru, but has lived in Minnesota for 14 years.

Before it was a Peruvian restaurant the location was once a Pancheros, said Sarmiento in a previous Patch story.

The business was family affair in which Sarimento did the cooking while his wife and three children, ages 20, 18 and 15 helped with other tasks like waiting tables.

Many people have commented on the Uchu Facebook post about how much they will miss the restaurant. As of the evening of June 8 there was no reply or comments about why the restaurant closed or what will happen in that location.

The restaurant was located on Berkshire Lane in Plymouth in a shopping center off Rockford Road.
